Ancestral Atlas are experts in the innovation, specification, design implementation, delivery and commercialisation of mapping systems and data (also known as Geographical Information Systems or GIS). With over 30 years collective experience in this area, our team has worked on some of the largest geographical information implementations in Europe, enabling systems to manage, manipulate and simultaneously deliver over 400,000 maps and over 25 million records.
Over the past 7 years, our expertise has been utilised in designing and building web-based mapping solutions for B2B and B2C web sites, as well as for the Ancestral Atlas web site itself.
Who we are:
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing Science, Adrian has worked professionally in IT for over 20 years, including 15 years within GIS. Adrian has a broad range of experience in all aspects of application design, implementation and project management, and has helped specify and build award-winning applications. Such is his interest in GIS; Adrian has written and presented papers on the subject.
Since completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Assessment, Rob has spent the last 13 years working within GIS. Over this time, he has been extensively involved in some of the UK's largest historical mapping and data acquisition projects. Developing innovative mapping solutions and the need to apply historical map data within modern mapping environments has put Rob at the forefront of the industry.
A Bachelor of Science degree holder and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Nick has a background in commercial real estate, and has specialised in sales and marketing for the past 10 years. Nick was invited on to the Board of Sitescope as Sales Director. He was integral to the success of Sitescope from being a loss making business to an annual turnover of £7.5 million in three years. Nick then set up CLS Ltd and created the ChancelCheck search, which rapidly became a standard search in all property transactions in England and Wales. He sold his business in 2007 to focus on the development and implementation of Ancestral Atlas.
